NLCS has in the past chosen to operate from a budget that was wholly dependent on tuition and school fees. However, like most independent schools, as our operating expenses increase due to expanding our programs, facilities and faculty/staff salaries we now are asking our parents, alumni, and friends for their voluntary support through the "Annual Fund". Your participation encourages others to give and sends a message to the community that New Life makes a difference.
The School values and appreciates all gifts – regardless of size. The Annual Fund provides the vital difference between what is ordinary and what is distinctive about the NLCS experience. The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of all fundraising programs at New Life and is critical to maintaining the strong academic programs for which the School is known.
Simply put, your financial contribution provides direct funding for educational initiatives that tuition alone does not cover. A donation to the Annual Fund is the most important way to give because it directly supports NLCS' students and faculty.
The Annual Fund goal for the 2013-14 school year is $40,000. When New Life meets its annual fund-raising goal, new programs can be undertaken, faculty salaries can be increased, and the school facilities can be improved. Annual Fund gifts are tax-deductible and are allocated within the fiscal year they are received.
You may choose to designate your gift to a particular area of the School's operations which is most meaningful to you. As always, you may choose to make an unrestricted gift to be used wherever the need is greatest.
Many organizations offer matching gift programs that support K-12 schools. Please check with your employer to see if they will match your gift. This is a great way to leverage the impact of your support by doubling or even tripling your contribution! If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed to the Development Office. We will do the rest. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses too. New Life Christian School is also an accepted "write-in" agency for the United Way of Frederick County.
Charitable contributions are recognized and listed within membership groups in the Annual Report published after the close of the fiscal year.
