The National Honor Society was organized 75 years ago to promote the recognition of students who display outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, character, service, and leadership. Membership in this prestigious organization is often considered a valid indicator that the student member will succeed in post-secondary education and life. Thousands of schools are chartered throughout the nation by the national organization of the National Honor Society governed by the Board of Directors of the National Association of Secondary School Principals based in Chicago.
