How do we apply?

A: To apply, visit our website (www.newlifecs.org), select “Admissions” from the dropdown  menu, or click “Apply Now.” Complete the student application and submit it online. A non-refundable application fee of $100 is collected online. Supporting documentation for applications includes birth certificates, immunizations, report cards, and student transcripts. If your child is transferring to NLCS, we will need copies of student transcripts and standardized testing, as described in the packet. Preschool students require additional forms. How long does the admission process take?

A: Once the application has been submitted and all necessary documents are in, an admissions interview is held with the admissions committee. The admissions committee writes a short report, which is submitted to the administration for approval. This process typically takes between two and four weeks, depending on the time of year.

What time does the school start and end each day?

A: Doors open at 8:00 am, and the day begins at 8:20 am and ends at 3:20 pm.

Does New Life have before and after-school care?

A: Yes, New Life offers an Extended Day Program.  See here for more information.

Does New Life Christian School have a cafeteria?

A: Students bring their lunches from home.  Drinks may be purchased at the school. Students also have the option to purchase lunches through MyHotLunchBox, which features options from Chick-fil-A, Subway, and Paisano’s Pizza.

Where can I purchase uniforms?

A: Uniforms are available from LAND’S END. The school code is 900148453.

Is New Life an accredited school?

A: New Life holds dual accreditation from the Association of Christian School International and from Middle States Association.

What instructional materials does New Life Christian School use?

A: New Life Christian School prefers materials from Christian publishers such as BJU Press, A Beka Book, Christian Schools International, and ACSI. Carefully screened publications from many other publishers round out the instructional materials.

What are New Life’s requirements for graduation from high school?

A: The New Life Christian School diploma requirements exceed the Maryland State Department of Education requirements. Students need 25 units of credit distributed across the major subject areas. There is also a Service Learning requirement of 100 hours.

Does New Life offer extracurricular activities and interschool sports?

A: NLCS has a thriving athletics program and offers clubs such as drama, worship teams, archery, and more. We also travel for field trips and mission trips.

Is there bus transportation to New Life?

A: There is no bus service. Parents are responsible for delivering and picking up their children. Parents organize carpools when possible.

Does New Life offer financial aid?

A: New Life extends financial assistance to eligible individuals; however, initiating the process by completing the Financial Aid/Grant application is imperative. It is important to note that the approval of financial aid is not guaranteed and is subject to the evaluation of the submitted application.
